MIDI WIZARD CASE STUDY
“Instantly Generate Radio-Worthy Chord Progressions & Melodies In 22 different genres”.
NZ artist Gwilym Devel (GWIL) approached me to help him with this project. The brief was to bring his character to life for Unison Audio’s MIDI plugin ‘MIDI Wizard’.
Similar to character animations for games, the key boxes we needed to tick were
Looping animation | All animations need to start and end on the same frame so that all animations can seamlessly stitch together
Responsive animation | The wizard’s magic hits needs to happen quickly so that it reacts to the interactive side of the plugin.
Deliveries | The animations needed to be delivered as small as it could possibly be with alpha (transparency) so that it could be brought into the plugin without slowing down the performance
